High-Bandwidth Backhaul, 5GHz WiFi Where People Are
Reliable event WiFi is built in two layers. The first is the backhaul: a high-bandwidth wireless link that carries the internet connection from our core network out to every part of your site. We use point-to-point 60GHz links between masts, so capacity reaches the far end of a hall, a car park or a field without trenching, cable ramps or long fibre runs.
The second layer is the WiFi people actually connect to. At each mast an access point takes that backhaul capacity and distributes it on 5GHz, which offers more channels and far less interference than the crowded 2.4GHz band. That means faster, steadier connections for phones, laptops, card terminals and ticket scanners, even when the space is full.
Because the backhaul and the WiFi run on separate frequencies, they do not compete with each other for airtime. The same design works indoors and out, from exhibition halls and conference venues to festival fields and sports grounds, and masts can be repositioned quickly if your layout changes.
